Spain - National program
The "L'ORÉAL-UNESCO For Women in Science" program has been working in Spain for more than 20 years to recognize and promote the work of women scientists in Spain and to encourage vocations among young women. And it has done so through various initiatives to make Spanish women researchers and their work more visible and to demand full equality in science through
These include the "L'ORÉAL-UNESCO For Women in Science" Research Awards to support the research of young Spanish women scientists. Each year, the program awards five prizes of fifteen thousand euros gross (€15,000) each to the projects of Spanish post-doctoral women researchers, presented by their centers or institutions. Among the requirements for the award are the scientific quality of the research project and its contribution to science and society, as well as the trajectory and merits of the researcher who develops it.
The projects are analyzed by a technical evaluation committee and then by a prestigious jury that will determine the five winners.
